Hunter Hanshew
Certified Flight Instructor (CFII)

Hunter Hanshew is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFII) based in Cedar City, Utah, specializing in flight training for students at every stage, from first-time pilots to those advancing toward instrument, commercial, and instructor ratings. With 400+ flight hours and a deep passion for teaching, Hunter is known for his calm, methodical approach and his ability to turn complex concepts into clear, confident execution in the cockpit.
A Southern Utah University (SUU) Aviation graduate, Class of 2025, Hunter relocated from Las Vegas, Nevada to Southern Utah to pursue his career in aviation. As one of the first pilots in his family, his journey into flying was driven by pure fascination and commitment, an energy he now brings into every lesson he teaches.
Hunter’s instruction style is built around one core principle: safety first, always. From there, he focuses on strong aeronautical decision-making, real-world flying skills, and building genuine confidence at the controls. He takes the time to understand where each student is struggling and explains maneuvers in detail, ensuring pilots don’t just pass a check-ride, but truly understand how and why the aircraft behaves the way it does.
